Today started as any other day we went down and had a good breakfast but little did we know we were about to have an extreme adventure (or that’s at least what the brochure said). We got picked up by this Thai man in a ute with seats in the tray and a roof over it and then he drove us to our adventure. Firstly we had a couple of kilometers walk through the hills of Patong Bay (lots of bird calls around) it was your stranded rainforest just like at Mount Glorious only without the drift kids driving and no road going up there only walking tracks.
After walking awhile we came across the first adventure it was a rock climb up this rock surface there was safety gear but nooooooooooowhere near Australia standards. We did it but Felicity was kind of scared and was regretting signing up for this tour but after the climb it got fun we went through about half a dozen flying foxes that flew through the rainforest canopy and they are awesome fun with a great view of the rainforest below and the bay out on the horizon.
The fist one I must admit it, I was scared because you had to walk up the dodgy wooden ladder that some Thai guy probably build in his back yard and it was hanging over a step rocky drop we made it up. Once on the landing I didn’t know what to expect because we have never been on one of these big flying foxes before, the worst bit is hopping off the landing but after the fist flying fox the rest was easy.
All flying foxed out we walked back through the rain forest saw a waterfall absailed down the rock surface and walked back to the ute.
Getting back to the hotel we were exhausted so we had a shower and got pizza for a late lunch and I had a nap.
Then it was time for an afternoon swim Felicity also got a massage on the beach after that we went back to the hotel and got ready for going out for dinner and walking around. We found a place that had a plate of food for less than $3 damn! With dinner done we went for a walk along the beach, I bought this lantern that you light and watch float up into the night sky like a balloon. I really enjoyed watching the silly thing float high into the sky and then finally burn out.
By the way you can also buy fireworks and set them off on the beach but I didn’t
“great work you missed all but one target Simpson”
“did I?”
Hope Brisbane doesn’t get any damage for the storm, it is on the news over here on CNN
